Theres silver on my turtles shell… what is it?

i left my turtle home for a week to visit my dad and my moms boyfriend fed them… he fed them ALOT like almost all the food was gone that i just bought, and the filter i just bought before i left was dirtyer then it would be in a month… my yellow bellied turtle now has silver on his shell. its just a baby maybe 2 inches long the shell, the other one is about 1 and a half inches long but that one is ok , it looks shilver because it shines but it just looks like its layered on his shell i cleaned the water (it was yellowish greens like lake water and very cloudy) and put new fish, changed the filter, and fed them what i used to. i just got back yesterday morning and fed them what a would which is what they would eat in about 4 minutes and today the smaller one snaped at me trying to bite me (was he hungry because he has been eating more?) whats a good way to get them back into line and does anyone know what silver on the shell is it could be white but he seems fine and acts normal

It sounds like your turtle is shedding its scutes- this is a normal process.
The silver appearance is caused by air getting beneath the outer layer.
